how to combat afternoon tiredness without caffeine. I get a normal amount of sleep.?
I go to bed at 10 pm, wake up at 5:45 am for work, where i am on my toes until 1 pm. I eat a breakfast of oatmeal or fruit smoothie, and drink lots of water throughout the day. I also eat small healthy snacks every couple of hours instead of large meals. I avoid sugar and caffeine. So, why am i exhausted by 1:30 pm?????? I feel like a zombie and my head wants to fall back. It all starts on the drive home from work, and doesn’t go away until bedtime. My motivation is dragging the rest of ther day. I come home and just sit for about 30 minutes. I can not fall asleep to take a nap, so that won’t work. So then i just make myself get up and do some gardening, go for a walk outside, or other physical activity, but it is a real challenge. I know my iron levels are fine, so does anyone have any ideas, and suggestions?
i would drink the caffinated drinks, but i have IBS and they make me sick.
Herbal supplements can help, I struggle with the same thing. Caffeine makes it worse, for me anyway cause then I just crash. Ive started taking mild diet supplements without caffeine and they help some, also drink lots of water and the best way (I know it’s hard, especially when your so tired) is to exercise, exercise, exercise. Your body will eventually start producing more energy and it takes a little while but the more you exercise the more energy you will have. Power naps too (ONLY 20 min) I always fall asleep and then never get up, that just makes it worse. Also, plan something your excited to do each day so you have something to look foreword too. I also started drinkin ice tea cause it has little caffeine and helps hydrate me and get me through the day.
