Why do so many people think mlm/network marketing/home businesses are not legit or pyramid schemes? ?
I just dont get it. It takes years to make a profit with anybusiness, and it takes large capital and alot of effort. But, with many mlm/home businesses, it only takes $97 to $500 to start and most of the business and website is setup for you. Why do so many uneducated idiots think they are pyramid scams? Madoff investments was a pyramid scam///mlms aren’t. Why do idiots think they are??
It is because MLMers put all their focus on recruiting people instead of actually selling any product. You can look at every compensation plan in MLM and they are far more weighted to recruiting people than they are to sales, with few exceptions. This has changed the reputation of the industry and this is why the perception is so negative.
If people in MLM sold enough product to make a good living and THEN recruited others to join, it would be a different story. But MLMers recruit people to make their money instead of actually marketing…which is not far from a ponzi scheme.
If you exclude the products/services bought by the reps themselves, most don’t even sell enough to earn enough commission to out earn someone earning minimum wage, and thus any real money is made from recruiting…which is exactly how money is made in a ponzi scheme.
The fact that it takes years to make a profit in any business has nothing to do with it.

Yes you can do this from home but the major misconception is that it is immediate. IT IS NOT. You could wait possibly two years or more before the company will give you the tools and allow you to work from home. Then again there are people who have been working for 10 and still do not work at home. Whether or not it is their choice I cannot say.
Not to mention for the most part the whole “career” is a waste of time and energy. Even after schooling the job is still low pay. Many people can make more working at WalMart.
So in the end I suggest you looking into something else much more worth while. Good luck.

loud steam from home raiator (NYC)?
hello,
I just moved into an tenement apartment building in nyc(brroklyn). My apartment was newly renovated with central AC and covered radiator heater. The heat is controlled by the landlord. Every time the the radiator comes on, It’s steam valve is too loud for comfort. I actually have to shut off the radiator in the evening because the sound of steam releasing is extremely loud.
Does anyone have suggestion to how i might fix this? There’s no “hammering” sound, just loud steam. I have my doubt going through the super.

I have 3 cast iron radiators in my apartment and only 2 of them work. The one in my bedroom doesn’t make that much noise, mostly a clicking sound and occasionally an almost silent hiss. The one in the living room hisses so loudly and violently that you have to blast the TV if you want to hear it and you practically need to shout to be heard. I’ve tried replacing the steam valve three times but nothing will stop the noise. If I shut it off altogether, it leaks all over the floor. I removed the little steam valve just to see what would happen and the entire room filled up with steam and all the windows/mirrors fogged up, BUT it was silent. I had no choice but to put the valve back on. I think there is a pressure problem that I’m unable to fix without involving a professional. There’s nothing else I can try on my own and my super is a drunk who only speaks Polish so I just have to live with it.

I live in Southern California and I want to start my own business, but I want to start from home first, I don’t have enough money to invest to rent a place to put a clothing store.
1. get a resell license from the franchise tax board
2. get a busines license from your local city
3. get a dba if the company name is anything but your exact given name (i.e. John Smith) from the country registers office
4. find the clothes you want to sell and buy them and start selling
5. if you are making any clothes (or screen printing shirts, etc ) you also need a garment registration number from the CA Department of Labor Standards Enforcement
Most cities will not allow you to use your house as a retail store, so you would have to figure out how to sell the clothes.
