Help! My Dad Is Gonna Get Laid-Off From His Engineering Job?

He worked as an engineer before, maybe like 6 years ago for Ford. His Job had abruptly closed, so he decided to find a new job at a GM shop in 2007.

Hopefully, his unemployment checks will help while he re-invents his life.

In the meantime, you could look around for ways you could help cut expenses. Also helping out around the house with cleaning, dishes, cooking, will help keep morale up for your parents. There are some great books on how to live on less at your local library. See if they have “The Complete Tightwad Gazette”. I suspect if your family reads that, they’ll be able to manage on much less.
